| ________________________________________ ________________________________________ Kenningwell started to come together from teenagers who would after school play football by a big tree on Goose Green, East Dulwich, our tree which formed one of our goalpost was situated in front of the Dulwich Public Baths, East Dulwich Rd. SE22 and the lights from the baths provided us with our floodlights during the winter months. John Douch our first ever goalkeeper and Devon Hamilton were neighbours at 106 & 104 East Dulwich Rd, John Turner lived at the end of the Green in Adys Road, Cliff Lambdon, John's best friends lived in Solway Road near Peckham Rye, Arthur Godman a dental student at Kings College in London played Rugby for Guys Hospital on our present home ground (the Brockley Rise Sports Ground) was based in Lordship Lane, his Father had a newsagent.Peter Kelly, Derk Hughes, Bobby & Graham Roberts also resided in East Dulwich, at weekends we would all walk the half a mile down to Peckham Rye in the hope of getting a match |
